Opening for a Director Business Development

The company: Nanotron Technologies GmbH is the wholly owned German subsidiary of Sensera Limited (ASX: SE1) the leading designer and manufacturer of end-to-end sensor solutions and services for the rapidly-growing Internet of Things (IoT) market. Today nanotron’s embedded location platform delivers location-awareness for safety and productivity solutions across industrial and consumer markets. The platform consists of chips, modules and software that enable precise real-time positioning and concurrent wireless communication. The ubiquitous proliferation of interoperable location platforms is creating the location-aware Internet of Things.

The job: Lead business development efforts for nanotron in chosen key markets world-wide. Identify new business opportunities for nanotron leveraging existing and potential new business partners. Target long-term partnerships and strategic alliances. Work alongside a diverse, dynamic and rapidly growing team of different nationalities and backgrounds. The Director of Business Development reports directly to the VP Sales and Marketing.

Key responsibilities: The Director of Business Developments is responsible for the aggregate size of nanotron’s funnel of business opportunities. He or she continuously grows the pipeline of business opportunities available to nanotron and facilitates translating individual business opportunities into design wins.

Working directly with key business partners as well as nanotron’s sales and marketing team: 

  • Maintain a growing funnel of validated business opportunities. Evaluate the opportunity size, time to market and type and amount of required resources for turning an opportunity into a design-win. Include opportunities to create and sell services and IP.
  • Facilitate a suitable a go-to-market approach for each of the chosen markets and coordinate its implementation.
  • Create, develop, enhance and maintain interpersonal relationships with Senior Executives of nanotron’s Business Partners.
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure that nanotron’s product roadmap is aligned with its existing and future business opportunities. Jointly propose and validate new product ideas.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of success as a Sales Leader in semiconductor markets. Experience in Wireless Sensor Networks and Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) highly appreciated.
  • In-depth knowledge of the sales process directly with OEMs and indirectly through external sales partners.
  • Well-organized, taking ownership and prioritizing work.
  • Ability to take decisions with limited supervision, even when no obvious process is established.
  • Ability to quickly understand and communicate product and applications requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work and influence organizations across hierarchies and cultures.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work within the charter of a well-defined Sales and Marketing Plan (SMP).
  • BS/MS or PhD in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in both English and German.
  • PC literacy (i.e. Excel, Power Point, Web browsers etc.).
