Proximity Authentication
Authentication is required to provide controlled access in buildings. Hands free access control requires auto-identification. Access must be granted without stopping the person from moving, i.e. gates/doors operate automatically whilst at the same time unauthorized access must be prevented.
Goal
Automatically detect and identify a person approaching the gate. Predict the optimum timing for opening and closing it without delaying the person’s movement.
Solution
Protect with swarm
There is one wireless reference node at the gate. People authorized for access carry a wireless tag that is known to the system by its unique ID. The wireless protect technology is now able to precisely track the changing distance between the gate and an approaching person to predict the moment of interception.
